The Hyundai Elantra Experience
The base level 2023 Hyundai Elantra comes equipped with a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve with D-CVVT MPI engine that’s paired with a Smartstream® Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). This engine configuration can generate power outputs of up to 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. Front-Wheel Drive comes standard as does Idle Stop & Go and Drive Mode Select.
Idle Stop & Go gets to work when you’ve come to a complete stop. This can be at a light, or a sign, even idling in traffic. If it lasts longer than a few seconds, the engine is turned off in order to conserve valuable fuel. This helps stretch out your mileage little by little, which ends up being a huge benefit in the long run. When it’s time to get moving again, you just need to release the brake pedal for the engine to automatically restart itself.
Drive Mode Select is another valuable feature that’s standard. It comes with three options: Normal, Sport, and Smart mode. Normal mode is as it’s described, with no alterations to performance or fuel usage. Sport mode is designed to recalibrate the Elantra to have a sports-car feel and performance level. While Smart focuses itself on conserving fuel and optimized performance to achieve that.
The Elantra comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display where the wireless Android Auto™ & Apple CarPlay® capability is functionable due to the inclusion of the Bluetooth® hands-free phone system with Voice Recognition.
